After the creation of Y.P.F and Astra in
the early 20th century, single men became the sole source for the workforce.
Both compainies lured skilled men from Europe through the incentives
of free passage and housing. Consequently, Astra and Y.P.F began operations
with a sizable population of single, European men. During the time
frame of 1925 to 1950 both Y.P.F. and Astra workforces consisted of these
men whether married or single working in jobs based on their ethnicity
starting at a very early age.
