Migration
by Jasmin Sánchez Cordero '03 and David Stein '03

This exhibit presents migration
experiences through the life stories of the people who
lived them. Between the late 1800's and mid 1900's, the
Americas experienced large waves of transatlantic immigration
and internal migration. The project focuses on the perspectives
of European, Argentine, and Chilean travelers. One can learn about the reasons
why people left their countries of origin, detailed accounts of the migration process
they faced, and their initial impressions of Comodoro
Rivadavia. In general, the migration process
began with pioneers, and continued as chains and
networks among countrymen facilitated communication, travel,
and adaptation to the host country.
