Comodoro Rivadavia and the surrounding region have witnessed remarkable change- from the time of initial settlement, to the discovery of petroleum and the creation of "company towns," to current expansion. This exhibit examines the concept of space and its use in oil company towns in Comodoro.  First, a brief history of Comodoro overviews past development. Visual perspectives of Comodoro's location and growth through the past century, as well as the development of the various company towns which emerged, are also featured. The exhibit looks at the structure of the hierarchy within the oil towns, with a focus on social spaces and housing. Also visit the gallery of modern views gathered in 2001.
