John Campbell was born in Points Pass, Armagh, Ireland. He spent his career writing, publishing, and selling books. He emigrated to American in 1843. In 1850, he established a publishing and bookselling business in Philadelphia. Some of his works include: A Theory of Equality (1848), Negro-Mania (1851), and Unionists vs. Traitors (1861).
